Sunday Dec 09, 2018
Sunday Dec 09, 2018
This week we're light on nonesense but heavy on the bourbon as guest Doug Boyd from the University of Kentucky's Louie B. Nunn Center joins us to talk about his work on Kentucky Bourbon Tales, an oral history project to document bourbon (nunncenter.org/bourbon). As we discuss all things bourbon we sip on Repeal Edition Jim Beam (86 proof), Old Tub BIB (100 proof), Jim Beam Sgnature Craft High Rye 11yr. (90 proof) and Doug Generously brought along some Elmer T. Lee (90 proof). We cover a few topics including the bourbon lotteries we've recently attended, dressing in Santa Onseies, "high end" sneakers and we recap the Dutch man who sued to become 20 years younger. However, the highlight of the show (from the library side) was Doug explaining how he was responsible for getting the bourbon subject heading recognized by the Library of Congress. As always thanks for listening we hope you enjoyed the show!!!

Sunday Nov 25, 2018
Sunday Nov 25, 2018
We're battling through Tanksgiving especially with Chad (sorry Shawn) and revisiting Wilderness Trail BIB (100 proof) after letting it sit for a while. This all started when Carrie, John and Chad took the bottle to the last UK tailgate and gave it another try and promised the taste improved. That said, Shawn and Rob are still a bit skeptical. We also enjoy Old Granddad BIB (100 proof) and Chad brings Bourbon samples straight from the barrel to test our bourbon knowledge in a fun game of gues the Age, Proof and Distiller. As the bourbon flows we ramble on about the announced Bourbon Distillery Park, ghosting bands, taking your parents to work day and marrying a hologram. We also touch on modern day cavemen in the UK and the coaching carousel in college football. As always thanks for listening we hope you enjoyed the show!!!

Along the way we also sample some Weller CYPB compliments of Shay. Thanks Shay!!! As we head down the whisky soaked highway we discuss Shawn's trip to Da'Ville. Chad's crazy ass pours, what the experts call "Daily Drinkers" and celebrity animals on Instagram. It's also election season in the Bluegrass so we talk about liquor sales being decided by a coin flip. Aliens, asteroids, Uber and celebrity animals also make an appearance. Turmoil ensuses as Shawn and Chad battle over geography and we hit up the Triple H's Hydro Haters. Holland and Hawking round out the show. As always thanks for listening. Cheers!!
